THE 85th Singapore Sports Hub Invitational Tournament was held on 24 and 25 April, during which Myanmar’s athletics team secured four gold medals.
In the competition, Thwe Thwe Moe claimed the gold medal in the women’s hammer throw event with a distance of 47.38 metres. Win Win Khaing secured the gold in the women’s 10,000-metre race walk with a time of 59:15.60, while Thant Sin Aung won gold in the men’s 10,000-metre race walk with a time of 50:36.11. Hein Htet Aung also earned a gold medal in the men’s 800-metre race with a time of 1:50.59.
Athletes from Southeast Asian countries participated in the competition. Led by U Kyaw Htoo Aung, General Secretary of the Myanmar Athletics Federation, along with coach U Tint Wai, Myanmar athletes Hein Htet Aung (800 metres), Thant Sin Aung (10,000-metre race walk), Win Win Khaing (10,000-metre race walk) and Thwe Thwe Moe (hammer throw) returned to Yangon yesterday. — Arkar Linn/KZL
