Under the aegis of the Sitagu Sayadaw, a ground-breaking ceremony for construction of Sitagu Ayudana Hsopital was held in Kaytumati Myothit, Taungoo in Bago Region this morning in conjunction with unveiling a statue of the Sitagu Sayadaw.
Shwegyin Nikaya Uppaokkahta Abhidaja Maha Rattha Guru Abhidaja Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotika Aggamahā Ganthavacakapaṇḍita Dr. Bhaddanta Nyanissara, Chief Minister of Bago Region U Win Thein, Commander of the Southern Command Maj-Gen Myo Win and officials unveiled the statue and sprinkled scented water on it before posing for a documentary photo.
The stake-driving ceremony followed. The ceremony opened by reciting the Namo Tassa three times and the congregation received the “Five Precepts” from the Sitagu Sayadaw. Next, members of the Sangha recited the “Paritta”. Afterwards, the regional chief minister, the commander and donors drove the stakes at designated places in the construction site.
The congregation then received “the Dhamma” preached by the Sitagu Sayadaw and shared merits gained.—Tin Soe (Bago)
