Yedashe, 27 July

A vocational training school for girls and a philanthropic center were inaugurated in Ward-6, Yedashe Township in Bago Region on 26 July.

Also present on the occasion were members of Sangha led by Sitagu Ashin Teikkha Tharya, Chief Minister of Bago Region U Win Thein, Commander of Southern Command Maj-Gen Myo Win, departmental staff and donors. The two training centers were opened by a prominent Buddhist monk, the chief minister, and the commander by cutting a ceremonial ribbon and sprinkling scented water on the stone inscriptions. A Buddhist monk preached the Dhamma and those present donated offertories to members of the Sangha and shared merits gained.

The two training centers will accept 40 female trainees for six month training courses ranging from computer, tailoring, and statistics by providing food and accommodation free of charge.—Tin Soe (Bago)
