Indaw, 7 October

Six people were arrested for gold mining illegally in the prohibited area in Indaw Township, Sagaing Region on 5 October. 

A combined squad led by the head of the township police force together with eye witnesses, based on an anonymous tip, went to an illegal gold mine about three miles east of Narmakyaing Village, Indaw Township. They found six people with an engine generator and other items used in gold mining. 

Five individuals including  Win Oo have been charged under the Myanmar Mines Law and are being questioned by the local police station.
