THE  International  Association  Theravada  Buddhist  Universities-IATBU  held  its  executive  council  meeting  at  the Sitagu  International Buddhist Academy in Yangon yesterday in preparation  for  the  IATBU’s  sixth  con-ference in Khatamandu in Nepal in November 2020.


The  six  conference  which  will  be  held  on  20,  21  and  22  in  November next year will discuss how the Noble Eight-Fold Path of  the  Buddha  can  help  the  17  sustainable  development  goals  of the United Nations.


The IATBU has 46 members of universities and colleges from 10 countries.


The IATBU was established in 2007.


The  first  conference  was  held in Poppa and the second in Sagaing, Myanmar.


The  IATBU  held  its  third  conference  in  Thailand,  the  fourth in Indonesia and the fifth in Sri Lanka.
