Nyaung-U, 8 September

A ceremony to provide social pension to senior citizens aged 85 and above was held at the meeting hall of the Township General Administration Department in Nyaung-U Township, Mandalay Region on 8 September.

During the ceremony, chairman of the Township Administration Council U Nan Tint delivered an opening speech. Next, an official from the District Department of Social Welfare clarified the purposes of the provision of social pension for elderly people.

Afterwards, officials dispensed Ks. 38.99 million for 1299 senior citizens for the months of July, August and September in 2022-2023 fiscal years. The pension was accepted by respective village administrators on behalf of the elderly people.—Ko Kyemon
