Yedashe, 31 August
Around 50 homes from Thabyaytan Village in Yedashe Township, Bago Region on the western side of the Yangon-Mandalay Road were submerged about 3 ft. of floodwaters from a small creek following heavy rains in the area since August 30.
Some homes in the village were inundated by floodwaters from torrential rains that swept through the area since August 30 evening, locals said. “The water level of the creel was rising due to incessant heavy rains and homes near the motor road were submerged by the floodwaters because most of the flooded homes are located in low-lying area,” they added.
The village usually face flooding in the rainy season due to drainage system between the road and village.
