State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi received a delegation from the People’s Republic of China led by State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of PRC Mr. Wang Yi at the Credentials Hall of the Presidential Palace in Nay Pyi Taw at 5.10 pm yesterday.
At the call, both sides cordially discussed further promotion of fraternal relations and cooperation, closer cooperation in the regional and international arenas and cementing of people-to-people relations between the two countries.
Also present at the call were Union Minister U Kyaw Tint Swe and Chinese Ambassador Mr Chen Hai.
After the call, State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Wang Yi took part in the Myanmar-China bilateral talks.
At the meeting discussions focused on the observance of the 70th anniversary diplomatic relations and establishment of comprehensive strategic relations, soonest implementation of Myanmar-China economic corridor, implementation of border economic cooperation zone projects through effective means and multi-sectoral cooperation involving cultural, transport and electricity sectors.
Also present at the bilateral talks were Union Ministers U Kyaw Tint Swe, U Min Thu, U Thaung Tun, U Han Zaw and U Kyaw Tin, Deputy Ministers U Kyaw Myo and U Aung Htoo and officials.
