State Counsellor and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs Daw Aung San Suu Kyi received Mr. Sanjay Mitra, Secretary of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of India at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nay Pyi Taw at 3:00 p.m. on 16 May 2019.

During the discussions, both sides exchanged views on matters pertaining to promotion of bilateral relations, maintaining security, peace and stability along the common border, capacity-building programmes for personnel of the Myanmar Tatmadaw and enhancement of cooperation in combating terrorism.

Also present at the meeting were Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations and National Security Advisor to the Union Government U Thaung Tun, Union Minister for International Cooperation U Kyaw Tin and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.—MNA
