State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi who was in Beijing, People’s Republic of China (PRC) attended the opening ceremony of the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation held at the China National Convention Centre (CNCC) yesterday morning.
At the ceremony Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a keynote speech and Russian Federation President, Egyptian President, Chilean President, Malaysian Prime Minister, Pakistani Prime Minister and UN Secretary General delivered messages of greetings.
The event was attended by heads of state, heads of government, government representatives and officials from 37 countries. Next State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi attended a High-Level Meeting Session 1 held at the China National Convention Centre and delivered a speech entitled “Belt and Road Cooperation: Shaping a Brighter Shared Future.”
Later in the evening the State Counsellor went to the Great Hall of the People to attend a dinner hosted by the Chinese President and wife where the State Counsellor was greeted by President Mr. Xi Jinping and wife.
Afterwards the State Counsellor took a commemorative group photo with the Chinese President and wife and other state leaders.
This was followed by a dinner hosted by the Chinese President and wife for the heads of state and heads of governments. —MNA(Translated by Zaw Min)
