State Counsellor holds meeting with PRC President

State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi received Chinese President Mr Xi Jinping at the Credentials Hall of the Presidential Palace, Nay Pyi Taw, yesterday evening.
The Chinese President was greeted by the State Counsellor when he arrived at the Presidential Palace at 4 p.m. before he signed the guestbook there. The two national leaders then took a documentary photo together.
During the meeting that followed, both sides discussed promoting bilateral relations, close cooperation in multi-sector development, increasing Phaukphaw relations, forming a community that shares challenges and benefits, and collaborating in the BRI project.
Accompanying the State Counsellor at the meeting were Union Minister for Office of the State Counsellor U Kyaw Tint Swe and Myanmar Ambassador to China U Myo Thant Pe while the Chinese President was accompanied by Mr Wang Yi, member of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China and Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Chinese Ambassador Mr Chen Hai. — MNA  (Translated by Zaw Htet Oo)
