State Counsellor meets with CPPCC Chairman, attends int’l horticulture exhibition in Beijing

On the 5th day of her visit to China, State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and entourage visited the Myanmar embassy in Beijing yesterday morning.
They met with embassy staff, military attach
é, their families and scholarship students in China. The State Counsellor toured around inside the embassy and took a documentary photo with everyone.

 

Next, the State Counsellor went to attend a meeting with Mr. Wang Ying, Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), at Kyauk Yu Thai State Guesthouse.

Accompanying the State Counsellor were Union Ministers U Thant Sin Maung, U Win Khaing and U Kyaw Tin, Deputy Ministers U Aung Htoo and U Sett Aung, Myanmar Ambassador U Thit Lin Ohn and other officials.
 

The State Counsellor was then treated to a luncheon by Mr. Wang Ying on behalf of the President of China.
Afterwards, the State Counsellor and entourage travelled to the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition in Yang Ching and visited the Myanmar Garden booth where U Aung Soe, permanent secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, and booth organizer Daw Khin Htay Kywel explained about the items on display.

 

The State Counsellor then signed the guestbook of Myanmar Garden and took a documentary photo with booth’s officials.
The horticultural exhibition is showcasing 110 booths from international countries and organizations and will be held until 7 October.

 

Next, the State Counsellor went to the China exhibition booth and watched a video on country representation with China’s President, leaders from global countries, executive leaders and representatives of government. She then toured the international booths.
 

Following this, the State Counsellor planted the ceremonial apple tree for the opening of the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition. Next, she attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition at Gui Yue Theatre. —MNA (Translated by Zaw Htet Oo)
