State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi met separately with President of Indonesia Mr. Joko Widodo and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand General Prayut Chan-o-cha (Ret.) at Athenee Tower, Bangkok, Thailand yesterday.

State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and Indonesian President Joko Widodo met at local standard time 2 p.m.
During the meeting State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi congratulated President Joko Widodo on his reelection. She also thanked Indonesia for constructing a hospital in Rakhine State as humanitarian assistance for all communities. She also said that both countries faced the danger of natural disasters and support and assistance were given to one another while bilateral cooperation on defending against natural disasters was required. President Joko Widodo in turn said coordination would be continued to provide humanitarian assistance in Rakhine State and discussed about successfully implementing the process of repatriating returnees suggested in the preliminary assessment on repatriation of returnees by the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance (AHA Centre).
Afterwards State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and Kingdom of Thailand Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha (Ret.) met at 2:30 p.m. local time.
At this meeting matters relating to increasing Myanmar-Thailand bilateral relations and cooperation, signing management, maintenance and usage agreement of Myanmar-Thai Friendship Bridge 2 to increase bilateral trade and integrate connection, legalizing illegal migrant workers, progress in friendly resolution on repatriating displaced Myanmar nationals and Thailand’s support towards implementing the process of repatriating returnees suggested in the preliminary assessment on repatriation of returnees by AHA Centre was discussed.
Also present at the meetings were Union Ministers U Thaung Tun and U Kyaw Tin, Myanmar Ambassador to Thailand U Myo Myint Than, Permanent Representative of Myanmar to ASEAN U Min Lwin and officials. – MNA (Translated by Zaw Min)
