In her first post, State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi said that she never had any intention to use Facebook, but this time, she has the social media account created for quick and effective contact with people in facing against the COVID-19 challenges.
On the second day, she wrote about the video conference meeting with four frontline Coronavirus workers and gave an update regarding this.
She wrote: “Regarding the report of nurse Daw Nan Htet Htet Khaing, the water supply project will be implemented by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement and the Department of Rural Development. Our teams have sent 10 units of PPE, 200 pairs of gloves, 200 masks and 5 thermometers from Pathein.”
“In relation to the discussion of Dr Khin Rupa Soe from Hlinethaya Township, we have given out 500 units of PPE today. The regional government has arranged the four ferry cars which were included in the discussion of U San Maung Maung from the We Love Yangon civic society. Other well-wishers are also making donations. Yangon Region government and the wards and village administrators will arrange for the alms at the monasteries. Regarding the demand of U Kaung Myat Thu from the Aung volunteers group, the Yangon Region government will provide two ferry buses, while the government will also donate 10 sets of computer if there are no donors for this.”
The State Counsellor also said, “We are fulfilling the requirements of the people. I am very glad to communicate with the people. My father, who was a monastic boy from central Myanmar, sometimes used to conclude his speeches using Pali words. Quoting the words of my father, ‘May all our people be free from danger. In addition, may all the people of the world be free from danger.”—MNA
