ACCORDING to the Mann Shwesettaw Pagoda Trustees, a steel Bailey bridge is being installed to provide pilgrims ac­cess to the lower golden foot­print of the pagoda.

 

The bridge is 12 feet and eight inches wide and 100 feet long. No 967 Engineer Corps has been installing it since 24 December 2024. As of 2 January 2025, more than 95 per cent of the bridge installation work has been completed and is expect­ed to be finished in the coming days.

 

This year, the Buddha Puja Festival at the Mann Shweset­taw Pagoda will be held for 75 days, from 2 February to 17 April. — ASH/TH
