A signboard bearing the phrase “Stop COVID-19 Yellow Campaign” was erected yesterday morning at Myanma Tourism Bank (Head Office) on Pyay Road as part of the public awareness programme to control the global pandemic in Yangon.
The campaign was launched by the Yangon region government and the Ministry of Health and Sports in collaboration with the Myanmar Tourism Federation (MTF) and Myanma Tourism Bank (MTB).
Yangon Region Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein and the regional ministers, MTB’s chairperson and the officials from MTF and its brotherhood associations attended the ceremony. The Chief Minister formally opened the ceremony, pressing the button to unveil the signboard and cutting
the ribbon.
The signboard bears the phrases–wear the masks, wash your hands, practice social distancing and remind each other. These catchphrases urge people to wear masks and remind each other. At the ceremony, Myanmar Souvenir Entrepreneurs Association donated 50,000 surgical masks and 10,000 wet tissues. In comparison, MTB provided 20,000 masks, Myanmar Tourists Healthcare Association contributed 1,000 N95 masks, and Myanmar Hospitality Professionals Association (MHPA) donated 100 face shields to Yangon region government.
