Thakata crocodile farm on Yangon-Thanlyin road,Thaketa Industrial Estate, Yangon is staging seven booths showcasing rare crocodiles, attracting a large number of locals and foreigners.

There are 550 crocodiles of different types which measure from one foot to over ten- feet. The farm is home to Crocodylus porosus, Crocodylus palustris, Crocodylus porosus, Garvialis ga ngeticus and Crocodylus siamensis and was opened on 6 November, 1997. Some of them are saltwater crocodiles that can live from 70 up to 100 years in the sanctuary.

The people may observe the strange behaviors of the crocodiles at the camp. The public made suggestions that the camp will be more significant and wonderful if it is facilitated with gardens, lakes, restaurants, flora and fauna as well as  animal species. –Than Htike
