A total of 37 houses in eight village tracts in Paukkaung Township of Bago Region were damaged when the township was hit by strong winds yesterday evening.

 

Most of the houses were partially destroyed as the roofs were flipped over by the strong winds and in some cases a water tank used for toilet in the market was hit by uprooted tree while two houses were collapsed by strong winds.

 

Under the supervision of Chairman of the Township Administration Council, staff from the Township General Administration Department, firemen and auxiliary firefighters from the Township Fire Services Department and village Administrators provided necessary assistance to victims of strong winds.

 

But no casualties have been reported in the incident.—Township (IPRD)
