Strong winds hit Paunkkaung Township, Bago Region at 7:30 pm on 8 April and house roofs were flipped over.

The strong winds caused roofs of 30 houses, one school building, one monastery to flip over and one house to collapse in Thitboke village-tract. In Lathataunggyi village-tract, house roofs of 44 houses, one school building, and one Church were blown away and one house was destroyed. 

Roofs of four houses in North Shwelaung village-tract and seven houses in Htantabin village-tract were flipped over. The house roofs of 85 houses, three school buildings and four religious buildings were flipped over and two houses collapsed due to the strong winds that hit the township. No casualties were reported in the incident, according to the Township General Administration Department.
