Paungbyin 3 April

The strong winds hit Paungbyin, Mawlaik District on 2 April. The strong winds caused the roofs of departmental offices, pagodas, houses and school buildings to flip over. A one-storey pavilion of a pagoda collapsed in the gusts of wind.

The vessel named “Htay Htay Khaing” at the Chindwin Port tilted due to high waves and water entering into it. Therefore, officials from governmental departments, Township Fire Services Department, members of Rescue Teams and Red Cross Society helped pump water out of the vessel.

In addition, departmental officials cleared the broken trees and branches using heavy machines to prevent traffic congestion. No casualties were reported in the incidents.
