Many students from a hostel belonging to St. Joseph Church in Loikaw, Kayah State have been hospitalized with food poisoning.
66 students studying at BEHS.4 from a hostel run by St. Joseph Church, Loikaw, the capital city of Kayah State fell ill after eating fried bamboo shoot and rice for breakfast at about 7 a.m. on 19 August. The students were taken to a nearby hospital to receive medical treatment.
The 42 students returned home later in the day and 26 students are still receiving medical treatment and they are not in critical condition.—MOHA
