Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Win Myat Aye provided assistances to mothers and non-profit organizations in Kyaukphyu, Yanbye and Maei Townships, Rakhine State.

 


Union Minister, accompanied by Deputy Minister U Soe Aung and officials from the ministry, attended the ceremony, where they provided K 1,134,000 to the Kyaukphyu Home for the Aged, K 9,753,000 to the Zetitaung Home for the Aged, K 700,000 each out of K 7, 700,000 to the self-reliant primary schools, K 300,000 each to the Manaung Township Social Welfare Association, the Laywaddy Kularatkhita Association, the Great Bear Association, the Ratkhita Social Welfare Association, the Regional Development Association on Mayazine Island, No.8 unit, the Polaris Free Funeral Service Association, the Ratkhathandarhme Non-profit social organization, the Paramishin Non-Profit Foundation, the Future Bright Non-profit Social Welfare Association, the Banuaung Health and Social Welfare Association, the Pensioners Association, Myittamon Education Foundation, the Kyaukphyu Blood Donation Association, the Thandamyay Development Foundation, the Ponnynacari Association, the Up-right Social Development Association, the Farmers Development Association and the Thawwin Thazin Free Funeral Service Association and K 1,818,100 to open three maternal wards. Then an official accepted the cash assistance and expressed his appreciations. Next they displayed a demonstration of throwing garbage to the children. The Union Minister and party went to the District Disaster Management Office in Kyaukphyu, where they inspected the storage of relief supplies.

In the afternoon, Union Minister and party continued to Maei Township, where they provided K 700, 000 each to self-reliant primary schools, K 600, 000 to the Thahaya and the Mettashin Social Welfare Associations and K 3,218, 100 to five maternity wards. They posed for documentary photographs together with the attendees at the event. In his opening speech, Union Minister Dr. Win Myat Aye said that the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement has been striving to render the healthcare services to the infants, young girls, women, senior citizens and persons with disabilities while building 26 weatherproof buildings in Rakhine State. Afterwards, Union Minister and party went to the Yandanmanaung Monastery, where they paid respects to the Sanghas and donated robes and cash donation.
