A work coordination meeting on holding rice offering ceremony to 400 Buddhist monks from Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia and organizing the second Dhamma trip was held at the auditorium of the General Administration Department in Tachilek, Shan State on 9 October.

At the meeting, Deputy Commissioner U Myint Naing delivered an opening speech and those present took part in the discussions. The rice offering ceremony will commence from Mae Sai in Thailand and cross No.1 Myanmar-Thai Friendship Bridge and end Shan Yoma Ground in Tachilek. Next, the monks will receive the Dhamma preached by the Nagar Hnakaung Sayadaw, plant a Bodhi tree, pay homage to the replica of Shwedagon Pagoda and donate cash assistance to monasteries.


A total of 47 Buddhist monks from Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia will make a Dhamma trip on 18 October with the arrangement of some Buddhist associations in Myanar and Thailand.
