Myothit, 29 March

 

Organized by Yangon-based Disabled People’s Development Organization, talks on prevention of disabled women under UNCRPD and Law on the Rights of People with Disabilities was held at “ Phyatlan” hall in Lebyin ward in the town of Myothit, Magway region on 27 March.

 

At the talks, Project Manager of DPDO mentioned the aim of the talks held, followed by a presentation about the works for the prevention of disabled women and the current works being conducted by the department by U Thitsa, head of the Township Social Welfare Department.

 

Then, senior lawyer U Aung Naing Tun with impaired vision dealt with the objectives, the meaning, the basic principles and the rights of the disabled included in the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. 

 

A total of 50 people including departmental personnel and members of NGOs, members of social organizations and members of DPDO attended the talks.—Win Ei Zun (IPRD)
