THE Taninthayi Region Tourism Committee, during its 5/2024 Co­ordination Meeting, announced the approval of pre-construction per­mits for 15 hotel projects, along with new licences for 14 hotels and several guesthouses in the region.

 

Since its inception, the committee has held 16 coordination meetings to facilitate the systematic development of the hotel and tourism sector in key destinations. These meetings have led to the approval of 15 new hotel project proposals, 14 new hotel licences, 3 new guesthouse licences, 25 new tour op­erator licences, three new tour guide licences, 55 regional tour guide licences, 38 hotel licence renewals, eight guest­house licence renewals, 32 tour operator licence renewals, and 82 regional tour guide licence renewals.

 

Efforts are also focused on enhanc­ing tourism services in specific areas: Dawei for domestic travellers, Myeik for both domestic and Thai tourists, and Kawthoung for international visitors.
