On behalf of the local government, Regional Minister for Immigration and Human Resource Development U Kyaw Min donated cash assistance to flood victims in Taninthayi Township on 13 August.
    
A total of Ks. 19,533,700 was presented to flood victims through the chairman of township disaster management committee U Soe Win Naing and committee members. Accompanied by departmental staff and Regional MP U Ye Myint Swe, the regional minister visited a home-for-the-aged where they paid homage to a senior monk. They also met with disaster victims who are currently taking shelter at temporary rescue camps.
