TWO Tatmadaw vessels — the Shwepuzun and the Saku — arriving in Thapyuseik Village, Kyaiklat Township, Ayeyawady Region, with Tatmadaw doctors, specialists and medical officers, offered healthcare services to 424 locals at Yadana Thukha Dhamma Beikman Taw in Nyaung Chaung Monastery compound yesterday.
The services included treatments for 89 individuals with general illnesses, 11 with surgical conditions, 17 with obstetric or gynaecological issues, 55 with paediatric diseases, 70 with orthopaedic issues, 39 with ENT conditions, 98 with eye diseases, and 45 with dental problems.
In turn, five general surgery patients underwent procedures while six patients received eye surgery, 25 received X-ray tests, 32 were tested in ultrasound and 28 had ECGs performed to assess heart conditions. Furthermore, 41 patients underwent laboratory testing and five individuals requiring hospital care were referred to nearby Tatmadaw hospitals for further treatment.
The Shwepuzun vessel successfully facilitated the delivery of a baby boy to Daw Wai Wai Myo, wife of U Lin Naing Oo from Dayal Cho Village, Kyaiklat Township, at around 8:33 pm on 19 January. Both mother and child are reported to be in good health. The newborn received a congratulatory gift including monetary rewards from the Office of Commander-in-Chief (Navy). This baby was the third successful delivery during the current mission and marked the 31st successful birth on the Shwepuzun vessel in its historical records.
Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win and relevant officials observed the medical services and presented medicines and local foods to the medics. — MNA/KZL
