A total of 172 Myanmar nationals stranded in Malaysia because of the suspension of commercial flights returned home by an MAI relief flight yesterday.

The export of sesame dropped by half in the early months of this financial year because of the lower demand for sesame from abroad, according to Myanmar Pulses, Beans and Sesame Seeds Merchants Association (MPBSSMA).

Under the Ayeyawady dolphin conservation plan, authorities have seized a total of 21 electrofishing vessels and other related items in a dolphin conservation area within three months, said U Kyaw Hla Thein, officer-in-charge of Ayeyawady dolphin conservation under the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS-Myanmar).
