Yargyi-Kalewa section of the Monywa-Yargyi-Kelawa Road that leads to a border town Tamu from Monywa in Sagaing Region is being upgraded with the financial assistance of India. Improvements for the road section have begun since May 2018.

Six people have died and 41 people sustained injuries after a six-wheeled truck driven by a man named U Thant Zin Oo from Pale Township overturned near Thayetpin Village in Gangaw Township, Magway Region on 22 November.
