FROM 1 October 2019 to mid-June 2020, Myanmar exported over 560,000 metric tons of fishery products, an increase of 70,000 tonnes over the same period in the previous year.
MYANMAR’S gold export has paused when the international remittance for gold purchase has changed from Telegraph Transfer (TT) to Letter of Credit (LC), said Chairman U Myo Myint of Yangon Gold Entrepreneurs Association (YGEA).
The global gold has crossed over US$1,000 per ounce since 2019 and registered a decade high of over $1,770 per ounce, said Chairman U Myo Myint of Yangon Gold Entrepreneurs Association (YGEA).
Myanmar’s trade gap has significantly widened in eight and half months of the current financial year 2019-2020 to more than US$1.7 billion from $853 million registered in the corresponding period of the 2018-2019FY, according to the data provided by the Ministry of Commerce.
