In efforts to prevent spread of Coronavirus infection, border trade centres in Thailand’s two provinces bordering with Shan State and Kayah State will be suspended as from 21 March, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued new restrictions for visitors coming to Myanmar from countries where the infection rate increases amidst the outbreak of COVID-19 in various parts of the world.
A total of 27,330 Myanmar workers has officially taken overseas jobs in eight countries, according to the figures released by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population.
The factory operators can face legal actions under the Myanmar Investment Law (MIL) if they fail to comply with notification requirements for the closure of factories, said U Thant Sin Lwin, director-general of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA).
