Taninthayi Region, the southern tip of Myanmar, abounds with water, forest and mineral resources. Kawthoung in Taninthayi Region is also well known for the minority Salon (or) Mawken (or) Sea Gypsies living on the islands.
The Ye Hlwe waterfall on the east bank of Sittaung river is recognized as a new tourist attraction for the post-COVID-19 tourism due to its beautiful scenery and convenient transportation after the opening of the Sittaung River Bridge (Yedashe) on 2 January.
