Team Myanmar make final preparations for Paris Olympic qualifiers

The Myanmar women’s national team is preparing for the first stage of the 2024 Paris Olympic qualifiers, which will be held in early April.

 

The women’s squad returned from a friendly trip to China on 24 March and started training on 25 March.

 

The Myanmar women’s national team is training with a total of 26 players, including the 24 players who went on a friendly trip to China, including striker Win Theingi Tun, who is playing for a Thai women’s club, and defender Khin Than Wai, who was unable to go on the friendly trip to China due to injury.

 

As the final 22 players must be selected for the Paris Olympic qualifiers, the Myanmar women’s team will have to reduce four players.

 

 Team Administrator Daw Myat Myat Oo, Head Coach Daw Thet Thet Win, Assistant Coaches Daw San San Maw, U Sa Htet Naing Win, and U Yin Min Aung will handle the team during the trip.

 

The team includes goalkeepers: May Zin Nwe, Zulat Nadi, Myo Mya Mya Nyein, Defenders: Moe Ma Ma Soe, Zun Yu Ya Oo, May Thet Mon Myint, Aye Aye Moe, Khin Myo Win, Phyu Phyu Win, Ei Ei Kyaw, and Khin Than Wai, Midfielders: Khin Marlar Tun, Nant May Thazin, Khin Mo Mo Tun, Yupar Khaing, May Sabel Phoo, Pone Pone Pyae Maung, Lin Myint Mo, Naw Htet Htet Wai, Wai Phoo Eain, and Forward Players: Win Theingi Tun, Su Pyae Pyae Kyaw, Myat Noe Khin, San Thaw Thaw, July Kyaw, and Shwe Yi Tun.

 

The Myanmar women’s team is in Group B of the Paris Olympic qualifiers, and the matches will be held from 5 to 11 April at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon. Team Myanmar is falling into the same group as Iran, Maldives, and Bangladesh. — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
