THE Myanmar national foot­ball team will begin training on 23 May in preparation for their second match in the third-round qualifiers of the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, sched­uled for June.

 

Myanmar will face Paki­stan on 10 June and will spend around two weeks preparing for the match. Head coach U Myo Hlaing Win will contin­ue to lead the team, which currently consists of over 30 core players. Some players who are currently playing for overseas clubs, as well as a few from the Myanmar U22 national team, will join the squad later. The current squad mainly comprises play­ers selected during the March training camp.

 

In the third-round qual­ifiers, Myanmar is grouped with Syria, Afghanistan and Pakistan. In the first-round matches held in March, My­anmar secured a 2-1 victory over Afghanistan, while Syria defeated Pakistan 2-0. — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
