Cargo trucks from Yangon where a surge in locally transmitted coronavirus cases are reported will not be allowed to enter Magway and a temporary cargo depot is being set up in the compound of a high school (branch) in Magyikan Village, according to the private bus line supervisory committee.
Operation of the bus services outside Magway Region will be suspended beginning September 14 and a temporary cargo depot is created not to halt commodity flow and contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
“The temporary cargo depot was set up on September 12. A total of 40 cargo trucks arrived at the depot on September 14. The drivers and bus conductors are not allowed to enter Magway,” said U Myint Soe, Chairman of the private bus-line supervisory committee. They would be placed under two-week observation at Magway Education College that was diverted into a quarantine center.
A strict measure is being imposed to supervise the operation of all vehicles in Magway Region in accordance with the COVID-19 rules, according to the private bus-line supervisory committee.—Zayatu (Magway)
