A total of ten teams will participate in the 2021 season of the Myanmar National League I, according to the official decision made by the Myanmar National League Committee meeting held yesterday by videoconferencing.
The meeting was joined by U Zaw Zaw, President of the Myanmar Football Federation and Myanmar National League Committee, football officials, MNL Club owners and chairmen.
During the meeting, football officials focused on Myanmar football development and the current situation of the Myanmar National League football teams.
According to the unanimous decision of the meeting, there will be ten teams to be included in the Myanmar National League I and Shan United, Hantharwady United, Ayeyawady United, Yangon United, Yadanarbon FC, Rakhine United, Sagaing United, Chinland FC and Myawaddy FC and ISPE FC, were selected according to the MNL Regulations.
Football authorities also decided to hold the MNL League II tournament with a total of eight teams, including Dagon FC.
The 2021 season of the MNL League I tourney is scheduled to hold from April to September, depending on the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021.
Next, the MNL League II tourney will be held from May to August, and the Bogyoke Aung San Shield football tournament will run from June to September.
In the meantime, Women’s League football tournament will be launched from April to July, and Youth League (U-21) is scheduled to run from May to November, according to the MNL online meeting.
