Altogether 81 illegal migrant workers—72 men and nine women, who were without proper documents and detained in Thailand, were handed over by Thai authorities to their Myanmar counterparts.

 

The hand-over took place at the border town of Kawthoung, Taninthayi Region yesterday.

 

Also present on the occasion were personnel from Kawthoung District General Administration Department, the Labour Department, the Anti-human Trafficking Police Force and the Disaster Management Department and others.

 

The returnee workers were sent to their places of origin after being provided with health care.— Kyaw Soe (Kawthoung)
