A total of 79 Myanmar migrant workers including 53 men and 26 women were handed over by the Thai authorities to their Myanmar counterpart at Myanmar-Thai Friendship Bridge-2 this morning.


The returnees were welcomed by the district Administrator U Myint Naing, the township Administrator U Chan Myet Saw and departmental officials and provided free medical check-up and other necessary assistances to them. 


All returnees will put under 14-day observation at a facility quarantine center in Tachilek. They will also be put under seven-day quarantine when they arrive in their native villages and towns in accordance with the rules released by Ministry of Health and Sports.
