Thegon, 13 June
Thegon Township in Bago Region plans to grow 13,259 acres of oilseed crops during this rainy season to support local self-sufficiency and boost oilseed production.
The planting includes 6,857 acres of peanuts, 288 acres of sesame, and 114 acres of sunflower. Local farmers are working to improve yields and meet planting targets.
To support this effort, quality seeds and basic agricultural techniques are being used. Responsible persons from the Township Agriculture and Livestock Supervision Committee are also providing training, awareness sessions, and model plots to promote effective farming practices. — Township IPRD
