Kalewa 24 March
Three people reported killed and seven others were injured after a six-wheeled truck carrying timber logs overturned in Kalewa Township, Sagaing Region.
The fatal accident occurred near Chaungson Village, Kalewa Township at about 5:30 p.m. on 23 March when a six-wheeled truck loaded with lumber flipped over on a mountain slope. The accident is believed to have occurred due to the faculty braking system of the truck. Three men were pronounced dead on the spot and seven others sustained minor injuries in the incident.
The deceased and injured people were transferred to a public hospital and a probe has been launched to investigate into the cause of the accident by the local police.—Thet Han (Kalewa)
