A multiplier course on township level disaster management was held at auditorium in Kyaukse Township, Mandalay Region this morning.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of the township disaster management committee Township Administrator U Chan Tha said Mandalay Region is prone to natural disasters and is locaed on Sagaing Fault. People in Mandalay Region need to make necessary preparations, he added. Next, Assistant Director of the Department of Disaster Management Daw Zar Mon Oo clarified the purpose of the course.
Afterwards, officials from the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, Department of Health, Fire Services Department and Myanmar Red Cross Society took part in the discussions.—Thet Maung (IPRD)
