A ceremony to display traditional food organized by the Bago region government was held at the western archway of Shwemawdaw Pagoda yesterday.

Bago chief minister U Win Thein, speaker of regional Hluttaw U Khin Maung Yin, regional minister for social affairs Daw Nyunt Nyunt Htay and regional minister for Kayin Ethnic Affairs Daw Naw Pwal Say formally opened the ceremony and looked round the booths displayed by governmental departments, social organizations and ethnic people.

Afterwards, the regional chief minister awarded winners in sport meets and musical troupes who presented entertainment in the opening ceremony. Then, ethnic literature and cultural groups also performed traditional dances to attendees.

At the ceremony, a commemorative booths of Union Day, departmental booths on procedures of the respective departments, health awareness booths, traffic rules and regulations booth, education and disaster booths and booths on Kayin, Rakhine, Mon and Pa-O ethnic literature and culture and traditional food are also included.
