Two people have died and five others were injured in a traffic accident between two vehicles in Yedashe Township, Bago Region, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The accident took place between mileposts 181/6 and 181/7 on the Yangon-Mandalay old road near Hmansi Village, Yedashe Township in Bago Region at about 5:30 a.m. on 7 December. A light truck with six people on board rear ended another vehicle after the driver lost control of the car. Two men including the driver of the light truck identified as Zaw Lin (alias) Than Gyoung, 44 years old were pronounced dead on the scene of accident and five others sustained injuries.
Among the injured people, two women were severely hurt in the incident. All injured people were sent to a public hospital in Yedashe and the light truck driver has been charged with reckless driving by the local police.—MOHA
