Three people were killed and six others injured as a 10-wheeler truck overturned and smashed into a hut after the driver lost control of the vehicle in Taungoo, Bago Region.

The accident took place between mileposts 16/4 and 16/5 on the Taungoo-Loikaw Road near Htonbo Village when a truck carrying rocks crashed into a hut beside the road due to its braking system. Three people—one man and two women—inside the hut died on the spot six others including the driver were seriously injured in the incident.

The injured people were sent to a public hospital in Taungoo and the driver identified as Myo Thu, 32 years old is being questioned over reckless driving by the police.—MOHA
