With a view to creating a better job opportunity for rural people and boosting their social-economic status, a free training course on masonry and carpentry has been organized since November 14 this year at the meeting room of the Department of Rural Development (DRD) in Sumprabum Township, Putao District of Kachin State.

A total of 15 trainees from three villages in the township are being given practical and theoretical lectures by course instructors during training course which runs from November 14 to 28 this year.

Officials from the Township Department of Rural Development also provided some stationery and teaching material aids to the trainees. The course will benefit the trainees to generate more income in their families and villages, according to an official from the Township Department of Rural Development.—April Moe (Sumprabum)
