In recent days, torrential downpours hit across the nation and villages in Palaw Township, Taninthayi Region experienced burgeoning. Now, the floodwater has decreased and trash clearing operation was conducted at houses, water tanks, and schools yesterday.

The mass trash clearing operation was jointly conducted by members of the Township disaster management committee, staff from Department of Public Health, auxiliary firefighters, departmental personnel and local residents.  They pumped out water from water tanks and put chlorine in them. Now, the flood victims in the villages returned to their homes and the suspended schools are reopened, according to the Township Information and Public Relations Department.
