Thandaunggy, 15 June


A collective tree planting activity was took place in Thandaunggyi Township in Hpa-an District, Kayin State this morning.


With the aim of keeping the environment green, maintaining soil and temperature, staff from the Township Administration Department, Departmental officials, Ward Administrators and locals attended the activity, and jointly planted about 300 pine trees and 160 cherry-trees near the town of Thandaunggyi.


Pine trees were provided by the township Forest Department and cherry-trees were provided by a donor from Pyin Oo Lwin.


Also present on the occasion were the township Deputy Administrator U Nay Thway, staff officer of the township Information and Public Relations Department Naw Law Mu and staff, the township medical superintendent Dr. Si Thu San and staff, Director of the township Women’s Affairs Association Daw Mar Mar Cho and members.
