Prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic is being carried out in Kungyangon Township, Yangon Region with added momentum with the aim of containing the spread of deadly virus.

The truck drivers and their assistants who entered Yangon Region from Ayeyawady Region got medical checks so as to know as to whether they are infected with the virus or not with the use of rapid test kit. Employees from the Department of Public Health, Department of Education, General Administration Department, Department of Road, Fire Services Department, and Myanmar Red Cross Society were involved in the task.

27 out of 27 truck drivers and their coworkers, one person residing in Dawbon Township, Yangon Region was found to have been infected with the virus. The coronavirus patient was sent to a hospital and the medical test would be undertaken on a daily basis, according to the township Covid-19 prevention and control committee.
