US President Donald Trump and his South Korean counterpart, Moon Jae-in, have discussed by phone North Korea's denuclearization.

The telephone conversation, which lasted for about half an hour on Tuesday, focused on Saturday's launch of multiple projectiles by the North.

The White House says the two leaders discussed ways to achieve the complete denuclearization of North Korea.

South Korea's presidential office says the two presidents discussed how to prevent North Korea from veering off the track of dialogue, and how to resume the dialogue as soon as possible.

The office also says Moon praised the US president for his response to Pyongyang's launch of projectiles. Trump suggested he will wait and see the North's next step.

Referring to South Korea's plan to offer humanitarian food aid to the North, Trump reportedly said it would be a very timely and positive step.

US and South Korean officials are analyzing the details of the projectiles that Pyongyang launched to determine whether they included ballistic missiles, which would constitute a violation of the UN Security Council's sanctions resolutions.
