No casualties were reported in a fire in Tamwe Township, Yangon, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The fire broke out in a house of a woman identified as Daw Kyin Myaing on Thayar Shwepyi Lane, Tamwelay Ward in Tamwe Township at about 2:55 p.m. on August 25. Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire which was believed to have started from an overheated kettle with the use 54 fire engines and the flame was completely put out in 50 minutes later.
The fire engulfed one three-storey house, one two-storey house and damaged some parts of a four-storey building. The house owner is being questioned over fire negligence by the police.
